Trumpet Artist, Dr. Robert Kase, has a wide background both as a performer and educator. He is an international trumpet artist that has heralded high acclaims from around the world. His performances as a trumpet soloist are in constant demand in both jazz and classical ensembles and have taken him on solo tours of Sweden, Norway, England, Germany, France, Russia, Switzerland, Canada, and across the USA. As a recording artist he has performed on more than 200 recording projects including four solo jazz recordings with his own quintet including his latest CD entitled “Those Paris Nights” for the Altenburgh Jazz recording label. As an educator, Dr. Kase serves as Chair of the Department of Music and Professor of Trumpet at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point. He has conducted various ensembles and honor groups all over the USA and continually appears as guest artist in residence in Europe and Scandinavia. He is an active trumpet artist for the Schilke Music Company and his successful work as an artist/clinician has placed him in high demand as soloist and lecturer in a wide variety of mediums including appearance at soloist with the International Trumpet Guild in Germany. His close work with schools has kept him attuned to the needs of young musicians and music educators.
Dr. Kase also is quite active as a music administrator and leader in music education organizations including serving in the National Association of Schools of Music. He is often called to give presentations and lectures on music education issues. He has written numerous articles and is a leader in various administrative capacities.
As a composer, Dr. Kase has published music, method books, and ensemble literature for trumpet, jazz ensembles and concert bands. He has also published numerous articles in music journals and educational magazines. His clinics and workshops cover a wide range of topics including trumpet, winds, bands, jazz improvisation, rehearsal techniques, music business, music education, and pedagogical philosophy.
