||"A Dragon’s Tale" was written in 2003 by Julie Ropers-Rosendahl for Concert Band. The opening measures paint the scene outside an ancient, imposing castle. The people inside are anxious—they await the dragon: magical, dangerous, and enormous. The dragon soars around the outside of the castle and then is allowed into the hall. The B section is a special secret wish sent to the dragon from someone in the castle. The dragon considers the wish carefully, then takes the wish with it as it circles and flies away,
leaving the castle in the distance.
