||"Prelude Opus 3 No. 2" by Rachmaninoff has been arranged by Chuck White for Brass and Timpani. This famous piano work has been scored for: Horn 1,2; Trumpet 1,2,3,4; Cornet 1,2,3; Trombone 1,2,3; Baritone; Tuba, Timpani. The arranger writes: "Balance is very important in brass choirs. I always triedáto useáthe formula 2Hn=1Tr, (2 French Horns to 1 Trumpet). There is always a shortage in some section, therefore the 1st and 2nd Cornet parts are the 1st and 2nd Horn parts and Cornet 3 (score) is TC Baritone. I liked a beginning tempo of Quarter note=42 per minute, 84 per minute at the Agitato and 40 per minute at the pesante at letter D."
