In the entire history of recorded Jazz rarely, if ever, has a project of this magnitude been undertaken. Five of the major jazz pianists of today have chosen to record the wonderful music of Hank Jones. In doing so they honor a major voice of the jazz world.
The five pianists are: Geoffrey Keezer, Kenny Barron, Chick Corea, Benny Green and Mulgrew Miller. The format of the CD is a collection of duets with Geoffrey Keezer and one of the previous mentioned artists. The pianists each appear twice with Keezer and there are two solo cuts with Geoffrey.
This CD has received critical acclaim and stands out as a collector’s item as well as a jazz piano player’s dream. Highly recommended!
