Aaron Doty holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He is currently pursuing his Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting at Ohio University where he studies with Dr. Andrew George. Mr. Doty’s previous teachers include Nobuyoshi Yasuda, John DeMain and Kenneth Kiesler. He has directed ensembles at UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stout, Edgewood College, Madison, WI and Ann Arbor, MI school districts. He is currently on the faculty at the UW-Eau Claire Indianhead Arts Center.
In addition to his role as conductor, Mr. Doty maintains an active performance schedule as a Double-Bassist. He has performed with the Madison Symphony, River Cities Symphony Orchestra, Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra, and the Edgewood Chamber Orchestra. He has performed as a jazz musician/clinician throughout the Midwest. He is a member of the American Symphony Orchestra League and the International Society of Bassists.
