A native of Eau Claire, WI, Ed is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire. While there he performed in the nationally acclaimed UWEC Jazz Ensemble I, recording two CDs – Jazz in Clear Water: Rhapsody and Jazz in Clear Water: Things to Come, which won the Downbeat award for Best College Jazz Big Band and was nominated for a Grammy in 2001.|
After college, he embarked on a three-year stint on the seven seas, performing on Holland America Lines and Carnival Cruise Lines, and serving as Musical Director aboard the Carnival Destiny in 2004.
Ed then spent four years in Las Vegas, earning a Masters in Jazz Performance at the University of Nevada- Las Vegas, and performing at many of the hotels along the famous Strip. He now resides in Coventry, RI with his wife Tara and dog Bebop, and in a short time has become a sought-after musician in the New England area.
Throughout his career, Ed has performed with Ne-Yo, The Manhattan Transfer, Nipsey Russell, Bebe Neuwirth, Marlena Shaw, Ruth Brown, Tommy Tune, Trent Carlini, Classic Albums Live, Joe LaBarbera, Bob Sheppard, Tim Hagans, Rich Perry, Clay Jenkins, Ed Calle, Slide Hampton, Allen Vizzuti, and has opened for Emeril Lagasse and Buddy Guy.
