Tim began his professional career at the age of 17 when he was hired to play drums for The Medora Musical in Theodore Roosevelt National Park, in the historic badlands of North Dakota. After his first season, he was given the additional responsibility of conductor. A few years later, Tim was promoted to the role of orchestral arranger. During his 12 year affiliation with The Medora Musical, Tim played with countless entertainers, musicians, and circus acts from all over the world, and orchestrated over 150 songs.
Tim received a B.A. in Music Composition and Percussion from Moorhead State University where he studied composition with Dr. Henry Gwiazda and percussion with Dr. Andrew Spencer. During his stay at Moorhead State, he performed with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra, FM Civic Opera Company, and famed London and Broadway choreographer Eddie Gasperís Red River Dance & Performing Company. Tim also worked as a studio musician for legendary composer Paul Severson at Audio Media Productions in Fargo. Tim was a two-time recipient of the Karl Swenson Memorial Percussion and Louis Stern Fargo-Moorhead Memorial Music Scholarships.
Tim took up residence in the Twin Cities after graduation, working as a show drummer for the Plymouth Playhouse, Venetian Playhouse, and Knottís Camp Snoopy Dinner Theaters. Tim writes, performs, and records throughout the Twin Cities area with a number of artists in a wide variety of musical settings. He has served as a drumset and percussion clinician for Groth Music Company in Minneapolis. Tim also teaches privately out of his home in Farmington, MN where he lives with his wife and four children.
