Andrés Martín Is a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina. His double bass education was held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, during 9 years of weekly private lessons with maestro Ciro Buono,

1st prize winner of the 1st music interpretation contest held in Avellaneda & Quilmes (Buenos Aires 2001) with his Double Bass Quartet “Gravissimo”, Andres has a wide experience playing chamber music and double bass ensEmbles.

As a double bassist he has performed with several orchestras and chamber ensambles in Argentina, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Brazil, Mexico, England, Germany, and the United States. Since his arrival in Tijuana (Mexico), Andrés has been immersed in teaching, performing as a soloist, and chamber musician. He is a member of the “Orquesta de Baja California” (Baja California Orchestra which is a small chamber group), and launched “Cuatro para Tango” a chamber ensemble with whom he released 4 recordings.

He also organizes and leads “Contrabajos de Baja California”, an international Double Bass Festival and chamber music course held in Tijuana every summer.

As a soloist, he performed over 40 recitals in California (North Mexico and South California area) , sharing the stage with talented pianists, chamber musicians and orchestras.

As a composer and arranger, he works with a wide language which goes from contemporary techniques thru tango and rock. His work has been performed and recorded by very successful orchestras, ensembles, and soloists of Mexico, Argentina and the United States.      After several years of investigation, arranging and transcribing, In 2009 he released a duo CD with Jorge López (flamenco guitarist) “Del Flamenco al Tango”
