Aaron Hedenstrom is a composer and saxophonist currently living in Eau Claire, WI, where he is finishing up a bachelor’s degree in classical composition. Aaron has played in many groups and venues around the Twin Cities and Chippewa Valley areas. As a saxophonist, Aaron has performed with the Aaron Hedenstrom Quintet, The John Raymond Project, The Adam Meckler Quintet, Nachito Herrera, The Remnant, The Javier Santiago Experiment, and many other groups. Other groups Aaron has performed with include the Michael Rambo Project, Dave Yellen Band, UWEC’s Jazz Ensemble I, UWEC Wind Symphony, and more. Aaron is also a multiple woodwinds player on flute, clarinet, and bass clarinet.
As a composer, Aaron has composed for jazz, classical, and pop groups alike. Currently, Aaron has been writing and recording with his own big band, The Aaron Hedenstrom Orchestra. Aaron has arranged music for the UWEC Cabaret Studio Orchestra, UWEC Symphony, and chamber ensembles and jazz combos of various instrumentations.
