Kevin is an Associate Professor of Music at North Central University in downtown Minneapolis, where he directs concert band, jazz band, and rhythm section ensembles, and teaches a smattering of theory, arranging, pedagogy and methods classes. He is also the advisor to NCU’s music education majors.
Kevin is an accomplished drummer, conductor, and composer/arranger, and can hold his own on saxophone, guitar, bass, piano, and trombone. Since 1995, Kevin has been the leader and director of a seventeen-piece big band, alternately known as KC Gospel Orchestra and KCGO Big Band. He has written and/or arranged over 70 pieces for big band, and estimates his output of original tunes “somewhere in the low three figures.”
KCGO has recorded two CDs and has begun recording a third, which will be a Christmas project.
In September of 2012, Kevin was named Associate Conductor of the 114-year-old Minnesota State Band.
Kevin and his nearly-perfect wife Wendy have three children, and reside in Plymouth, Minnesota.
