Christopher Madsenís credits as a saxophonist include performances and recordings with Paul Simon, Bobby Short, Wynton Marsalis, Victor Goines, Jeff Hamilton, Lage Lund, Micheal Dease, and Jon Irabagon. He is a published composer/arranger with Kendor Music, the UNC Jazz Press, Walrus Music, and RGM. From 2008 to 2014 he served as Jazz Studies Coordinator for Northwestern University and is currently Assistant Director of Jazz Studies at the U. of Illinois at Chicago. |
Madsen is a Rico Reed clinician and a member of the Chicago Music Society, NAfME, National Educators Association and JEN. He has presented clinics, conducted ensembles, and performed at numerous JEN conferences, the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, and the Illinois Music Educators All State conference.
He is one of the most in-demand and versatile saxophonists in Chicago, maintaining an active performance schedule and private studio, and directs the Jazz Program at Midwest Young Artists in Highwood, IL.
