"Elegy for Horn Alone" was composed in the early summer of 1998, after the composer’s mother had died. The disjunct and wavering melodies, as well as the sudden silences were the natural results of the composer’s meditative improvisations. Later that summer the same music expanded into a duet for violin and horn. Printed. |
