This composition was commissioned by the Chippewa Valley Concert Band and dedicated to their founding director, Dr. Donald S. George. The music uses the theme and variation technique to weave the melody, It Is Well With My Soul, throughout periods of darker thematic material and dissonance. The strong theme from this popular hymn is always triumphant. |
