"Nocturne for Tuba & String Quartet" was written in 1998 by Frank Ferriano. This is an expanded version of his "Nocturne for Tuba & Piano". This work for String quartet & Tuba is rather unique as pieces in this genre are few and far between. The music that results from this combination of instruments is surprisingly mellow. This work was premiered by the Tuba professor and his colleagues at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Great piece for recitals and for something different from the usual literature. |
