"Britney" was written in 1993 by Tom Boras. This is a lovely Ballad that features a trio composed of Tenor I, Trumpet I and Guitar stating the melody. The band provides a lot of well-written countrapuntal lines behind them. It goes into double time and features Trombone II and Piano in solistic roles and then returns to the original Ballad tempo for the finish. Very approachable by good high school groups and college ensembles. A nice change from the usual bombastic charts on most programs. |
