"Stolen Heart" was written for SATB Choir with piano accompaniment by Donald J. Young in 2005. The lyrics are based freely on Solomons Song of Songs from the Bible. This work was commissioned by the Washington Park High School Concert Choir (Racine, WI), Jon Senzig, Director, with grants from the Racine Arts Council and the Racine United Arts Fund. It was premiered on their 2005 Wisconsin Composers Tour Concert in November of 2005.
The text, based on Solomon’s "Song of Songs" from The
Bible, was composed with voice ranges accessible to
most high school , college, and church choirs. It
would also be ideal for contests and festivals.
