"Beginner Band Blues" was written by Don Crane in 2007. This is a work for young Concert Band. It is scored for: Flute; Oboe; Clar. 1 & 2; Alto Sax; Tenor Sax; Trpt. 1 & 2; Trom.; Tuba; Perc. The composer writes:
I love playing the blues and thought the kids would enjoy it as well. My writing gives me a chance to teach my entry level players about Blues style as well as the musical rules regarding accidentals and notes from the scale. I know my kids have made many mistakes in this area and this piece has helped to clear up the confusion!
