Description "Who Said?" is a rock style piece written for very beginning jazz band/combo. Rhythms consist of quarter notes and a few eighth notes, and ranges are very moderate. It can be handled by second year players having their first jazz experience. Many beginning jazz bands include players that are just starting a second instrument. Rhythm section parts are written with this in mind. Piano voicings are simple, the bass part uses repetitive notes, and an the drum set has an easy rock beat with written fills outling the chord changes. The piece is based on a 12 bar Bb blues. There are no solos, but you could easily add them if you want to. Parts include: alto sax, tenor sax, (with 2 options) baritone sax, trumpet, trombone. guitar, piano, bass, drums. The score and parts are engraved on Finale and are well edited and very legible. This music has lots of optional parts for concert band instruments. Also available as a PDF.
