Description "Blue Fingers" was written by Ray Ames in 2010. This is a chart for beginning Jazz Ensemble. Cleverly written to help young players get a good start. Swing style in Eb concert. The composer writes: "Blue Fingers" is a medium tempo swing chart for Beginning Jazz ensemble. It is a 12 bar blues in the keyof Eb. There is a section that can be opened for solos. A blues scale will work. I start my beginning jazz band with rock style charts. This piece will worked very well for their first introduction to the swing style. There are plenty of cliché jazz licks that will insure rapid success. It lies well under the fingers, but as the tile suggests it really gets their fingers moving. Trombone parts are reinforced with tenor and bari sax. Everybody gets a crack at the melody. The title came to me one day when I was re-attaching a loose chain inside the toilet tank. My wife had just put in a new bottle of Tidy Bowl, so I ended up with blue fingers.

Additional parts for concert band instruments added. Available as a PDF.
