"Battle Hymn of the Republic" words by Julia Ward Howe (1861) and set to the tunes of "John’s Brown’s Body" and "Glory, Glory Hallelujah" has been arranged by James M. Gallagher for younger concert bands. Mr. Gallagher arranged this Civil War era tune in 2010 for his middle school band. They performed it successfully and therefore it is kid-approved and tested. Starts in Bb concert and ends in C. Good writing for Brass.. great melodies. Civil War history lessons. Wonderful patriotic music. |
