"Tiger Lily’s D.I.Y. Paradise" was written in 2011 by Geoffrey Keezer. This is the opening tune on the recently released CD "VIA" featuring Geoffrey Keezer/Piano; Joe Locke/Vibes; Tim Garland/Saxophones. This Storms and Nocturnes trio has release two other CDs and this CD is stunning. "Tiger Lily’s D.I.Y Paradise" is a song about Geoffrey Keezer and Susan Wulff’s backyard and studio. It is a kind of mini-spa retreat that Susan built with her own hands and skill. It is one of Geoffrey’s favorite places to be and inspires him whenever he’s at home from his busy touring schedule. The five note theme is masterfully woven throughout the composition. Brahms and Prokofiev would be at home here amongst the jazzers. Excellent music! |
