"Four" is new arrangement by Jamey Simmons of the classic Miles Davis tune. It works very well in the Little Big Band category. It is scored for 2 Alto saxes , Bari sax, 2 Trumpets, French horn, Trombone & Tuba) and rhythm section. There is an optional Tenor sax part as a sub. for the horn. This is a refreshingly new take on the jazz standard and yet it has the Birth of the Cool sound at times. This chart will tax your best players, but it’s well worth the effort |
