Five Images From Early Earth (2009) was commissioned by the performing group Duo Avanzando. The five movements represent aural images of how early Earth may have once looked. The inspiration for the piece was the photography of Frans Lanting, whose work also explores the images of early Earth. The music teeters between atmospheric textures and spiky rhythmic sections.
