||"The Man from Tanganyika" by McCoy Tyner has been arranged for jazz ensemble by Jamey Simmons. The classic jazz tune is a mixture of up tempo Afro-Cuban Latin style and Swing. With 12/8 and 4/4 meters and 3/4 meters everybody is challenged. Flute and Clarinet doubles needed in the Sax section. Great arrangement. "The Man From Tanganyika" is a tune taken from McCoy Tynerís album "Tender Moments". Alternating between a 12/8 Afro-Cuban groove and swing, it features Tenor Sax and Piano solos. Doubles (flutes, clarinets) in the reed section add color to a subtle recap of the melody.
