Description "Azul Verano" was written by Sam Fettig in 2017. This is an Afro Cuban style tune that has sections of Swing. Lots of room for solos...all parts have chord changes written in. Well written. Azul Verano Grade 3 minor blues, Afro Cuban/swing 110 measures 3:20 minutes C, F and Tuba parts included (not shown in score) Supplemental solo guide for each part (not shown in score) "Azul Verano" (Blue Summer) is a 12-bar minor blues in D that effectively alternates between a 12/8 Afro-Cuban feel and a hard swing. The title comes from the Cuban (Spanish) words for "blue" and "summer", respectively. The Afro-Cuban groove is predicated on a bass riff which is doubled in the piano left hand. There are both intermediate and basic bass parts available provided that the pianist plays the left hand. Every section of the band has a soli to shine in, and there is a solo section for any sax player and another for any brass player (solo guides provided). Although written for 5 saxes, 4 trumpets and 4 trombones, the scoring allows for an effective performance with any number of players from each section. Get ready to swing hard!
